Henry G. Fuhs, JD, CPA, CIRA

Founder and Principal

Henry G. Fuhs is Founder and Principal of F3 Group Consulting. Henry has more than 25 years of experience as an advisor and investor in a wide range of business transactions with a concentration on financial and operational matters for investors, lenders and institutions.

With an expansive network, Henry has diverse experience in the areas of brokerage, acquisitions, dispositions, restructuring, crisis management, due diligence, underwriting, development, financing, asset management and platform/property operations. His experience spans all asset types including retail (mall, shopping center, restaurant and grocery), office, hospitality, healthcare, multi-family, single family residential and land development. He is an advisor to boards and senior management teams, which includes REITs, investors, family offices, reinsurance companies and private equity funds.

Recent activities include: commercial brokerage, mitigation of dark asset carry costs, lease terminations/restructuring, joint venture structuring, sale-lease back transactions, equity and debt positions, real estate backed securities and professional practice standards.

Prior to F3 Group Consulting, Henry led a real estate advisory practice (Eastern Region leader) for a top tier consulting firm. Prior, Henry was a Vice President at Cerberus Capital Management, evaluating acquisition opportunities and assumed asset management responsibilities of a $2.0 billion international real estate portfolio. He was actively involved in lender negotiations, restructurings, asset repositioning, disposition and recovery strategies. Prior, Henry worked at PriceWaterhouse in capital markets, tax and audit practices.

Richard Budd

Principal

Richard Budd is a Principal at F3 Group Consulting. Rick has more than 40 years of experience in financial services with extensive experience in the restructuring and disposition of troubled assets and distressed companies.

As an accomplished executive, Rick has held senior management roles for a number of high-profile companies, most recently as Senior Operating Executive at Cerberus Capital Management where he was responsible for a variety of troubled assets, both domestic and international. While at Cerberus, Rick also led the acquisition, turnaround, and ultimate sale of Silverleaf Resorts, Inc., a distressed hospitality turnaround in a public to private transaction. In addition, Rick held a Senior Managing Director role with GMAC ResCap as well as President of their Business Credit Group responsible for a $7 billion real estate and hospitality portfolio. Prior to Cerberus, Mr. Budd was Principal and Founding Partner at Marotta Gund Budd and Dzera, LLC, a turnaround consulting firm. Previously served as President and CEO of an ABN AMRO “bad bank” and EVP at European American Bank where he managed over $3 billion of problem assets.

As a recognized leader in restructuring and turnarounds, Rick has successfully managed a wide-range of distressed companies across a variety of industries including financial services, hospitality, commercial real estate, metals and mining, retail and manufacturing. Roles have been advisory or interim management along with numerous Board positions in turnaround situations.

Shannon J. Soong, CPA, CIRA

Principal

Shannon J. Soong is a Principal at F3 Group Consulting, with a well-rounded financial background offering a CPA and over 20 years of Accounting, Operational and Financial Planning and Analysis experience.  In addition to his experience applying complex financial concepts, Mr. Soong has demonstrated success in delivering value through process optimization, BI and performance reporting development and enhancement, and project management execution at companies ranging from startup to Big 4 and Fortune 100 public companies including the Media and Entertainment and Real Estate industries.

Mr. Soong’s experience in the real estate sector most recently includes executing disposition due diligence and asset underwriting on multiple real estate investments for a reinsurance company.  He has also developed business analytics, KPIs, and process infrastructure related to management, acquisition, and disposition within the institutionally evolving SFR industry.  Mr. Soong’s expertise encompasses operational management, budgeting and forecasting, financial reporting, modeling and analysis.

Prior to joining F3 Group Consulting, Mr. Soong served as Vice President, Financial Planning and Analysis for Shine America at 21st Century Fox, as well as Senior Manager Studio Controllership at The Walt Disney Company. In his roles, Mr. Soong has led the measurement and reporting of financial performance at the business unit level, as well as leading and executing strategic financial initiatives including the acquisition of Shine by 21st Century Fox. Mr. Soong has also served in Deloitte’s Assurance & Advisory group providing client financial services to a breadth of client industries including Government Contracting, Telecommunications, and Hospitality.

Emily Cheng

Emily Cheng, CFA

Director

Emily Cheng is a Director at F3 Group Consulting with over 12 years of domestic and international real estate experience focused on real estate finance and investment across the capital structure.  Ms. Cheng has expertise in investment underwriting, due diligence, financial modeling with complex partnership and waterfall structures and restructuring. Ms. Cheng has significant experience in all property types including office, hospitality, retail, industrial and multi-family.  Along with transaction experience throughout the U.S., Western Europe, Japan, India, Brazil, and Russia.

Prior to joining F3 Group Consulting, Ms. Cheng was an Associate Director at Navigant Consulting.  At Navigant, Ms. Cheng provided real estate transaction advisory services to both private and public real estate owners/operators and developers.  Prior to Navigant Consulting, Ms. Cheng was an investment professional with Kemnay Advisory Services, a single European family office.  At Kemnay, Ms. Cheng directly supported the managing partner in a variety of acquisition and investment activities including underwriting prospective managers, performing market research, financial modeling and monitoring a real estate portfolio with over $2.0 billion in equity commitments in domestic and international fund investments and direct assets.

Prior to Kemnay, Ms. Cheng was a consultant with Provenir, a technology consulting firm, where she assisted domestic and international commercial banks with the automation of the commercial lending processes.

Lucas Fotis

Associate Director

Lucas Fotis is an Associate Director at F3 Group Consulting with over 5 years of real estate expertise focused on investments in the capital markets with a unique interest in derivative market instruments such as CDS’s (Credit Default Swaps) and CDO’s (Collateral Debt Obligations). His experience stems from sale and restructuring of distressed debt, portfolio underwriting, financial modeling, commercial lending, and due diligence. He has a keen instinct for investment analysis and decision-making, allowing him to excel in the industry. He has dealt with all asset classes including Hospitality, Retail, Office, Industrial, Development, and Multi-Family.

His professional career began after graduating from Taylor University, where he played quarterback on the football team while holding multiple positions of leadership in the school of business. He consistently made impacting contributions to the active management of a large portion of the Taylor endowment fund, as well as captaining equity trading teams for nationwide competitions, placing top 5 nationally. In addition, he has spent summers working overseas in the Dominican Republic, where he built out financial models and processes for private equity investments.
